Have you ever wondered why certain businesses or teams tend to be more dynamic than others? Surely they must go through some tough times too, how do they keep their team focused and motivated? I'll let you in on a secret; make every year, every milestone, every moment in your business – memorable. Celebrate every win; it’s all the little wins that count at the end of the day.
As business owners, celebrating wins at all times is perhaps easier said than done, especially when times are bad or when we feel more could have been done. It’s hard to keep a straight face at times. I’ve been there. When you really think about it though, team morale is critical to business growth and success. So when your team celebrate wins, it reinforces positive behavior and in turn, the culture of your company. So if there’s so much at stake, then it’s critical as the leader in your business to set an example for the rest.
Â
So what constitutes a “win†in your business? Sure, let the creative juices flow, but it’s really not that hard. For example, even as a startup getting off the ground with still a long journey ahead of us, 2012 was a particularly memorable year for us at SavvySME. It wasn't just the milestone of when we incorporated the company or assembled the team back in May, but amidst all the ups and downs, we've grown a lot as a business. One reason is that we celebrated our wins almost every step of the way. Big or small, we chose to make it point to celebrate and make it memorable. The end result is amazing. We have a team that’s always focused and hungry for our next win!

Â
So the next time you think you’ve nothing in your business worth celebrating, think again. Look out for all the little wins. And choose to make every moment memorable. Try it and see how it goes.
One more thing - when it comes to ideas for celebration, you should get the team involved. You could be in for a surprise how much more engaged they become going forward. I would love to hear your ideas of how you celebrate wins with your teams.
Go ahead, start by making today truly memorable! :)Â

I love how you said "hungry for our next win" - made me laugh since we always celebrate our wins with an enormous amount of food :D!! Haha great pun indeed.

Haha, good pickup! There's hardly any good substitute for copious amount of food to celebrate! :) I'm sure you agree it's the universal language of love for our team! :)
