Do you take time off from your business to "sharpen the saw"?
In Stephen R Covey's book "7 habits of highly effective people", the final habit is
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
Balance and renew your resources, energy, and health to create a sustainable, long-term, effective lifestyle. It primarily emphasizes exercise for physical renewal, prayer (meditation, yoga, etc.) and good reading for mental renewal. It also mentions service to society for spiritual renewal.
What do you do to stay sharp?
I take time out to do art and create jewellery which helps me build my creativity and problem solving skills. Â I listen to a lot of audio training and philosophy when I am drawing to increase my personal and professional development. Â And... I am getting back into regular exercise. Â I guess that's the one area I need to sharpen the saw the most!Â
Thanks for the great question. Â I think that this is an important aspect of creating success in all areas of our lives and we do need to take time out to recharge, learn and grow.Â
