I'm really lucky to be primarily engaged in the business of creating wow moments for my customers. In fact if I don't create a wow moment, I'm not doing my job correctly. I marry people, which at it's core is a wow moment, who falls in love these days? It's a rare and special occasion, so if someone's not saying wow then it's probably not right. I wanted to share three three things I make sure I'm doing in my job to create wow moments, and hopefully you can transpose them to your business.
A customer that experiences a wow moment is going to want to tell everyone!
1. A wow moment has got to be authentic. Our generation has lived through the fake 90s and the plastic 00s -- Â it's authentic season and if it's not real it's not wowing us. So take the time to just be you. And make sure your client is in a space where they can authentically experience whatever the heck it is you're doing. Mine is stripping away all of the useless traditions and weird wedding stuff and creating a real and authentic celebration.
2. Wow moments acknowledge the facts, but then create a new reality for your customer. This is as simple as solving a problem, delivering on a promise, offering a life-changing product. You're leaving a mark on your customer. Mine is they come in as boyfriend and girlfriend, leave as husband and wife.
3. Wow moments are clearly communicated. There's no dodgy business going on here. What is authentically being created is worth shouting honestly from the rooftops, loudly. I do this by using normal words and English that my audience understand. I don't dumb it down, but I don't try to sound really awesome by using big words that don't mean anything to anyone.
A wow moment you create will define your future customers and be the thing that everyone speaks about. It's possibly not even your core product, but a side-service or a complimentary product. Take a moment to recognise what wow moment you're already creating, or if your customers aren't saying wow, look for an opportunity to create one today.
